II. ANALYSIS Again, for specifics regarding
each person I ask that you click on their name to see their manifest
and other data garnered from the manifest. After collecting and attempting making sense
out
of all of this disparate information, I have come up with the following
formulation as to who is who, and who knew who. This is the only way it
makes sense to me:
First wave of Wapienniks (1903-1905) --
Wojciech
& Tekla were brother and sister, and they arrived in New York bound for
Chicago on 4/4/1903. They had another sister, Emilia Wapiennik who
arrived in New York bound for Chicago on 2/5/1905. Emilia brought with her
Wojciech's wife, Marya Wapiennik. Marya and brought her and Wojciech's
son.
Second wave of Wapienniks (1910-1913) -- Weronika
Wapiennik came over in 12/10/1910, and lived with a friend. Weronika
indicated she had a mother in Krzyz named Leonora Wapiennik. Jożef and
Jożefa, husband and wife, came to NY bound for Chicago on 2/4/1913.
They brought with them their children, Marya and Jan Wapiennik
indicating they would live with their mother, Leonora Wapiennik, in
Chicago. This means that Leonora came over sometime between 1910 (when
Weronika listed her as living in Poland) and 1913 (when her child Jozef
indicated she lived in Chicago). That record is missing. Since Leonora
is both the mother of Weronika and Jozef, they must be brother and
sister.
Third wave of Wapienniks (1913-1914) -- Piotr
came over on 11/14/1913 to NY and bound for Chicago to live with his
cousin. He indicated he had a wife, Tekla, in Krzyz. Tekla came over
about 3 months later on 2/13/14, and brought their two children
Stanislawa and Franziszk Wapiennik.
Fourth wave of Wapienniks (1922) -- The
only person that cannot be accounted for is the US Citizen, Marianna (or
Mary Emilia Wapiennik) who came over on 9/24/1922. She was going to
live in Chicago with Stanislaw Wapiennik in Chicago, who also has no record I
can find.
