Tarnów is
a charming city at the edge of the Carpathian foothills. In its
northern portion there is a district called Krzyz (meaning "Cross")
where
Piotr Wapiennik lived. At the time Piotr left in 1913, Krzyz was just a
suburb of Tarnów, but in 1958 it was absorbed
by Tarnów and is now part of the city of Tarnów. The main street, ulica
("street")
Krzyska, is the largest and longest street in that part of town. A sattellite image of Tarnów, and specifically the Krzyz district, can be accessed on Google maps. |
